責任；「RESPONSIBILITY」と「ACCOUNTABILITY」の違ひ；R2-6-16、火曜
日本語の「責任」
誰もが責任を取らなくて済むように構築された日本組織で、「責任」といふ言葉を英語ではどう表現するのだろうか？

5年ほど前の記述だが、「RESPONSIBILITY」と「ACCOUNTABILITY」の違いがわかりやすい。
＞＞• 「responsibility」：これから起こる（＝未来）事柄や決定に対する責任の所在を示す。
• 「accountability」：すでに起きた（＝過去）決定や行為の結果に対する責任、またそれを説明する責任を表す。
すなわち、私が中学高校の頃に覚えた「responsibility」とは、これから起こりうる未来の事がらへのレスポンス、それに対応できる能力とでも解釈できるのだろうか。
Oxford Dict. では；
＞＞Having an obligation to do something, or having control over or care for someone, as part of one's job or role.
そして、
＞＞Being the primary cause of something and so able to be blamed or credited for it. であるから、「責任者」といを日本語に訳すのだろう。
さらに より広義に捉える意味もあるようだ；
＞＞(of a job or position) involving important duties, independent decision-making, or control over others.
しかし、これが「未来の」事項と結びつくのだろうか？
そこで、引用したサイトの記述に立ち戻る；
＞＞また、この2つの言葉の持つ、もう1つの側面は以下のような時に使われるという用法の違いも大きい。
＞＞• 「responsibility」：「誰の責任であるのか?」という時に使われる。
これは 理解できる。
だが、次の記述はどうだろうか。
＞＞• 「accountability」：「誰が責任を取るのか?」という時に使われる。
私は、ヒネクレているから、先ず自分でOxford Dict. を調べるが、そこには
”accountable” が、＞＞1 Required or expected to justify actions or decisions; responsible.
＞＞2 Able to be explained or understood.
この辞書からの説明では、過去云々が浮かんでこない、、、、困った、、、
そこで、素直になって引用サイトを見る。なるほど成程share できるか否か、といふことか
＞＞英語では以下のように説明されている。
• 「responsibility」：Responsibility may refer to: being in charge, being the owner of a task or event.
• 「accountability」：In ethics and governance, accountability is answer-ability, blameworthiness, liability, and the expectation of account-giving.
「responsibility」は他の人と共有することは可能だけど、「accountability」は他の人と共有できないという点が大きな違いだという指摘は納得できる。
The main difference between responsibility and accountability is that responsibility can be shared while accountability cannot.
Being accountable not only means being responsible for something but also ultimately being answerable for your actions.
Also, accountability is something you hold a person to only after a task is done or not done. Responsibility can be before and/or after a task.
